Become enchanted by the bright blue eyes of this USA native wildflower that was first discovered on the banks of the Suwannee River.
Sisyrinchium nashii ‘Suwannee’ blooms pastel blue, star-shaped flowers with cheery yellow centers in early summer (hence the name “Nash’s blue-eyed grass,” or just “blue-eyed grass”). It thrives in part shade to shade, but can handle full sun in cooler climates with sufficient moisture.
Sisyrinchium ‘Suwannee’ Blue-Eyed Grass’s airy habit would make it a cute addition to native, pollinator, and cottage gardens.
Note: This plant is commonly, though incorrectly, referred to as Sisyrinchium angustifolium ‘Suwannee’.
