Passiflora Incarnata

Don’t be fooled by the otherworldly blooms – Passiflora incarnata Passionflower is actually native to the southeastern United States. A prolific blooming vine, its pale lavender and purple flowers are a delight to pollinators all summer long.

Though it is native, Passiflora incarnata Passionflower is a vigorous grower and should be sited with that in mind. It can be planted in a large container to control its spread. It prefers fertile, well-draining soil but can also tolerate clay and poor soils.

Passiflora is also the larval host of the Gulf Fritillary Butterfly, which is native to the very southern US states.
